"Chan is the one [artist] whose efforts as a maker of books are probably the most challenging."
This handmade artist book was a collaboration between Paul Chan and Calvin Tomkins, and uses material from Tomkin's 2012 Badlands book Marcel Duchamp: The Afternoon Interviews in order to create a brand new artist book work. Using a special technique of overprinting images and texts onto existing sheets of book paper, this artist book is hallucinatory and freewheeling. Images of Duchamp and his works vie on the page with words by Tomkins, pictures from private online chatrooms, and florescent line drawings by Chan.
Each edition is signed by both Chan and Tomkins and is adorned with sets of stickers and other elements that make each edition unique in its own right.
