Art in America Interview with Aruna D'Souza
Aruna D'Souza has been interviewed by writer Shiv Kotecha for Art in America about her new book, Whitewalling: Art, Race & Protest in 3 Acts. They discuss how the book came to be, what it means to be an ally, how social media has expanded protest, and what museums and art institutions should do to address their issues and take responsibility for their legacies.
"At one level, this book is about good allies, bad allies, or not-at-all allies—but for me, the process of writing the book itself was an exercise in being an ally, and what that looks like in practice."
